HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM SHELBY!!
Great news.. All horses are back in work, and Shelby is in full swing. We have completed a week of very successful horse camps and have started week 2. 16horses are now home, with 11in use in the school... The new ponies Prince, BJ, Fleur and Barbie are showing their brilliance as school horses as well as giving us lots of fun.
Since the last letter Toppy has had an amazing bay colt named Ace. He's 5 weeks old and already bigger than cody - he's going to be huge!! Demi is doing well and is best friends with Ace - they are so cute together!! Check out the gallery for photos.
Only 2 weeks left of holidays now then its back into normal life. The book is open for lesson and party bookings now, so please get in contact if you are considering lessons this term. We will commence lessons on the 28th January, and permanent bookings are available on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
Instructors this term are as follows:
Tana - Monday-Friday
Kaitlyn - Tuesday-Saturday
Rachelle - Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays.
Hope to see you soon!
27th November 2007
So just when we thought the horses were all better it was no.. back to the paddock for another month! The blood tests showed that they had muscle damage and were not coping with the work.
But luckily for us we found some ponies that were totally EI free, vaccinated.. and ready to work. So Fleur, Prince and Footy are the proud new additions to Shellby, and lessons are back in full swing.. oh and Big Dusty has come out of retirement and is loving work again!
We have plenty of spaces available for lessons so if you havent started yet please give me a call to arrange times.
AND... HOORAY!!
We would like to welcome RADACA PARK DIAMONTE.. affectionately known as Demi. Born in the wee hours on the 20th November, Misty's little palomino filly is delighting us all. I will get photos up in the gallery shortly.
CHRISTMAS PARTY
Our inaugural Christmas party will be held Sat 22nd December from 3-7pm. Come check out the renovations and the babies (Toppy will have had her baby by then too!).
Swimming, Sausage Sizzle, Santa, Soda and Shampagne for the adults. Even if you arent currently getting lessons pop by and say hi. Also any potential families are more than welcome to come and have a look. Email me or call with any queries.
Hope to see you all soon

UPDATE 2nd November 2007
Well you will be very glad to know that all the horses are pretty much recovered… they are all at the farm munching grass and acting like a herd of brumbies… everyone from Chloe to Beenie is fat and shiny… and they do look amazing!!
Most of them have started work over the last 10days and they are coping very well..
We are still waiting on the birth of Misty's foal.. its 3 days overdue!! Keep an eye on the gallery for pictures!! Misty is here at Ingleside, so there should be a baby.. or 2 (Top Down is here too and due in 3 weeks!!) when the lessons start up again!
We will be definitely starting the school up slowly from the 18th November… We will only do limited lessons on the Saturdays, as I don't want to over work any of the ponies. So if as many kids as possible can do weekday lessons it would be great.
If you are interested in starting up lessons again, please call me over the next week to book in your spots. I will be limiting the intake of students until the end of the year until we are sure the horses are recovered properly. Please be aware that due to this I will be very strict on the cancellation policy of 24hrs notice or full payment. Make-up sessions will not be available unless the 24hrs notice is given.
I am also available for lessons outside of Shellby from now.
Camps will be running from the 2nd week of January, bookings are being taken now. We will for the first time offer ˝ day camps for those who struggle with the whole day, or think it will be too hot. Swimming will be incorporated into the camps as well. Full days are also available. $90 for 1/2day 9-1pm. $120 for full day 9-3pm.
There is a fair bit of work going on around Shellby.. new fences, fixing paddock drainage etc so please be careful when you come up for your lessons. By next year everything should be looking amazing!
Please remember to call or email me to arrange times.. Those of you with lesson cards with lessons still owing, please remember to bring them.. These must be used by the end of January, so I can start the new year lesson terms fresh. The value can be used for camps as well.
Don't forget I have 2 new instructors who are absolutely wonderful and have been a great support during these difficult times. Tana and Caitlin are available for lessons Monday to Saturday. Tamra will still be teaching some Saturdays.
